Peebles Bellringers Group
To find out more about the bells themselves, please see The Church Guide.
The church bells are rung every Sunday from 9.30am until approximately 9.50, which is prior to the start of the service in Peebles Old. We have around 10 people in our group and they come from all of the Peebles churches or without any particular church affiliation.
As it only takes one person to ring the bells, we were able to continue ringing throughout the Covid lockdowns, throughout the week as well as on a Sunday, which brought much needed cheer to the town.
In addition to our church ‘ringings’, we ring during Beltane Week, at the Christmas Lights Switch-on and on St Andrews Day. Any inhabitant of Peebles who is celebrating their 100 th birthday can request a special ringing to celebrate the occasion. Please contact the church office to request this and it’s helpful if we can have a little advance notice.
Each ringer has their own repertoire and we like to think we are improving all the time.
The bells are an iconic part of everyday life in Peebles and continue to be enjoyed throughout the whole
